Our commitment to safety
Safeguarding
Everyone who joins For Her, From Her is a volunteer. But safeguarding is not only a coordinator's job — it is a shared responsibility that belongs to all of us.
Volunteers are volunteers
Every woman who gives her time through this platform does so freely and generously. Volunteers are not employed, medically trained or professionally qualified by default. They offer companionship, encouragement and practical support based on their own experience, kindness and capacity.
That means volunteers do not provide clinical care, legal advice, financial counselling or emergency services. When someone needs specialist help, we guide them towards the right professional support.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility
A safe community is built by every person who takes part. Volunteers, coordinators, referrers and supporters all play a role in noticing concerns, speaking up and acting with care.
- •Be honest. Share only what you are comfortable sharing, and only what is true.
- •Be respectful. Treat boundaries, privacy and consent as non-negotiable.
- •Be alert. If something feels wrong, report it to a coordinator.
- •Be kind. Small, consistent care is powerful. Cruelty, pressure or judgement have no place here.
What to do if you are worried
If you ever feel unsafe, witness something concerning, or believe another member may be at risk, please contact a coordinator immediately. We will listen, take it seriously, and respond with sensitivity.
In an emergency, or if you believe someone is in immediate danger, please call your local emergency services straight away.
For Her, From Her is a community concept. If you have questions about our approach to safety, please email forherfromhersupportservice@gmail.com.
